A Year with Frog and Toad at 6th Street Playhouse – 10am, 1pm, 4pm

Sat, January 14, 2023, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Based on the children’s stories by Arnold Lobel, A Year with Frog and Toad is Broadway’s hit musical about growing and loving through all seasons of friendship.

In this whimsical journey into Frog and Toad’s woodland world, we will explore the importance of having friends and what it means to be one. We will discover precious examples of how true friendships weather and flourish in every season.

This interactive and playful musical makes it the perfect first foray into theatre for little ones but charms audiences of all ages. With jazzy music, toe-tapping dances and excellent storytelling, we will enjoy the adventures of tried-and-true friends – Frog and Toad – baking cookies, planting a garden, raking leaves and celebrating Christmas together!

Snail’s song, “I’m Coming Out of My Shell” is a side-splitting comic treat – funny for the kids but directed at grownups. Frog’s heartfelt ode to life and friendship, “Alone,” communicates big feelings we all try to understand.

Our A Year with Frog and Toad experience includes a collaboration with The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County and pre and post-show activities based on Lobel’s books. Before each show, there will be a terrific art project provided by our wonderful partners. The activity will engage your children in the stories and include them in creating theatre magic. Following the performances – stick around to meet your favorite characters and get their autographs!

A Year with Frog and Toad is recommended for children ages 3 to 10, but people of all ages will enjoy this imaginative and inspiring production.
