Mushroom & Fungi Walk at Armstrong Redwoods

Mushroom hike
Fri, February 24, 2023, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Taylor “Taye” Bright and enjoy a flat, slow, gentle walk discovering mushrooms and fungi in Armstrong Redwoods. In addition to the well known species such as Turkey Tail, you will learn to identify finds that may be deemed rare – such as a type of yellow waxy cap that was found on one of the forest’s paths, or, very unusual glowing (under UV/Blacklight) bioluminescent Parrot Mushroom found on Pioneer Trail.

The two available classes are: February 24, 2023 and March 3, 2023. The forest changes weekly… you never know what kind of fungi you will find so we highly suggest that you sign up for both!

Be sure to wear a warm coat and have gloves, a hat, a pad and pencil, and you phone or a camera to take photos. You may also want to consider purchasing a UV/blacklight flashlight in case we come across any bio mushrooms or fungi… or animals! (We have also discover a bioluminescent millipede in Armstrong Redwoods!)

Limit is 25 participants for each event. Tickets are $25 per person. You will receive 20% off as a Stewards member Click here to sign up.
