Science Saturdays at Spring Lake Regional Park

Bring your junior scientists over to the Environmental Discovery Center to enjoy a kids-only science activity hour. Adults can head out into the park to enjoy rejuvenating, kid-free time in nature! Activities are ideal for children ages 6-12 and themes change each month. The cost is $10 per child in county, $12 out of county and registration is required for each session. Nov. 13 – Learn about stored energy and test out different construction methods while experimenting with catapults. Participants will explore tension, torsion, and gravity while testing how far they can launch a marshmallow with their DIY catapult.

Dec. 11 – Let it snow! Come celebrate the start of the winter season while making snowballs and snow paint. Participants will experiment with different mixtures and solutions and create their very own snowy masterpiece to take home.
