SHOW 6 – THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
The Drowsy Chaperone begins with a gentlemen, a true lover of the theater, alone in his home. He chooses an album carefully – the soundtrack of his favorite musical, the fictional 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone – and sits down to listen. As the record plays, the musical comes to life on stage, and he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors, and sometimes even joins in the fun. This show is a delightful, full-of-fun homage to the American musicals of the Jazz Age which examines, in a playful way, the effect musicals have on those of us who adore them.
