Village Sounds – Summer Concert Series

A beloved tradition returns with an eclectic line-up of familiar faces and a few new ones! Gather with family and friends for our family-friendly outdoor summer live music series, Village Sounds, benefitting local non-profit partners featuring Sonoma County-based and Bay Area bands – from the 1940s to now and everything in between from pop to swing to rock and roll, blues, and everything in between.

Concerts will take place beginning June 12 through August 21, every other Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Village Court. Table reservations will be required with 100 percent of table reservation sales donated to local non-profit partners.

Table reservations may be made via EventBrite; 100 percent of reservation donations and sips sales will be donated to our local non-profit partners. No outside chairs will be permitted due to limited capacity.

Grab takeout from your Village favorites to nosh on in the courtyard at the event, or enjoy lunch or dinner before or after on property. Outside food and alcohol is not permitted.

Shop participating Village businesses the day-of who will donate a percentage back to our charitable partners. Village littles can get in on the fun with complimentary children’s activities at each event from face painting to balloon art to sing-alongs.

THE LINE-UP

– 6.12 – Pop Rocks – Pop Rocks is the ultimate dance band featuring current high energy hits, mixed with the classics from the 80s, 90s, and today from Bon Jovi to Bruno Mars and Whitney Houston, they dig deep into classic dance songs and execute them with style and enthusiasm. Pop Rocks is a core 6-piece dance band.

– 6.26 – Stax City – Stax City is an old-school horn-driven R&B band based in Sonoma County. They celebrate the music of James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Al Green, Tower of Power, and many more!

– 7.10 – Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers – Lavay Smith is an American singer specializing in swing and blues, accompanied by an eight-piece band.

– 7.24 – Mercy and the Heartbeats – Mercy & The Heartbeats, a dance band comprised of veteran musicians from the Bay Area and beyond. If you’ve got Mercy, then you’ve got all your favorite songs – 70’s and 80’s classics, 90’s singalongs, and the most current radio hits. Collectively, the six members of Mercy have been trusted to share the stage with legendary artists spanning all genres and decades, such as Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Bret Michaels (Poison), Coolio, The Sugar Hill Gang, Tone Loc, Steve Harwell (Smash Mouth), Pat Monahan (Train), Lou Gramm (Foreigner), The Black Keys, Digital Underground, Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead), Peter Buck and Mike Mills (R.E.M.), Mickey Thomas (Starship), Garry Beers and Ciaran Gribbin (INXS), Jennifer Holiday (Dreamgirls), Jerry Reed, Mel McDaniels, John Lee Hooker, The Coasters, Malo, Jorge Santana, Ryan Merchant (Capital Cities), Don Ho, Tony Lindsay (Santana), and many more.

– 8.7 – Wonder Bread 5 – For over a decade Wonder Bread 5 has been known as the international rock and roll party machine. Wonder Bread 5 is like a group of neighborhood kids that stayed together throughout the years. Best pals who still play for the fun and thrill of it. Performing a never-ending stream of new and up to date material, while always remembering the party anthems from their youth, a setlist from the Wonder Bread 5 will wind you down paths unimaginable to most bands. From the latest hits of this week to classics hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond.

– 8.21 – Pop Fiction – Top party cover dance band in Northern California featuring the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Pop Fiction’s extensive song list features hundreds of the greatest hits spanning six decades featuring your favorite 70s disco hits, 80s new wave and rock classics, as well as some of the best alternative, techno, hip hop and club hits from the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s.

Each concert will benefit a local Sonoma County non-profit. Community partner Eagle Distributing has donated a wide array of local brews, ciders, seltzers and more, available for purchase at the event with all proceeds benefitting Village Sounds nonprofit partners.

 6.12 – Sonoma County Pride – The mission of Sonoma County LGBT Pride is to promote equality for all. Working with community leaders they work to support the non-profit community and to preserve and educate the community about the rich LGBT history of Sonoma County.

• 6.26 – YWCA Sonoma County – YWCA Sonoma County’s overall mission is to end domestic violence through awareness, education and empowerment. Village Sounds donations will be donated directly to “A Special Place Therapeutic Preschool,” the only preschool in Sonoma County offering onsite therapy to children ages 3 – 5 years old.

• 7.10 – Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma-Marin – Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma-Marin’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

• 7.24 – Boys & Girls Club of Greater Santa Rosa – Boys & Girls Club of Greater Santa Rosa’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

• 8.7 – Social Advocates for Youth – Social Advocates for Youth is always there to serve the most vulnerable children, youth, and their families so they can realize their fullest potential to live their best lives.

• 8.21 – Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership Marin-Napa – “Secret Santa Program” – The Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership’s mission is to advance nonprofits and volunteerism by strengthening leadership, encouraging innovation and empowering individuals in our community. Donations raised will be donated to CVNL’s “Secret Santa” program which fulfills the holiday wishes of thousands of people in Sonoma County. They bring together people who wish to help their neighbors in need with others who have few resources to brighten the holidays with generosity.
