Virtual Spring Dance: T-E-C-H-N-O-B-O-D-Y  featuring an evening of dance, experiments, responses and art for our new hybrid world. 

T-E-C-H-N-O-B-O-D-Y features a project by Kinetech Arts, a dance film by faculty, Christine Cali/CALI & CO dance and a special dance program Alumni Chain Letter Dance Film: New Weird World; all with original sound and video design by Matt Langlois. These works have been created in collaboration with dance and tech majors, student stage managers and professional staff support. 

About our Guest Artists

Kinetech Arts, directed by Daiane Lopes da Silva and Weidong Yang, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that combines the work of dancers, scientists, and digital artists to create innovative and socially responsible performances. Kinetech Arts work has been supported by Zellerbach Family Foundation, CA$H Grant, The Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation, Rainin Foundation, and Creative Work Fund. Each year, KA produces multiple performances and over 50 other public events, including Open LabsY-Exchange public talks and Dance Hack Festivals. KA residencies include SAFEhouse ArtsCombustible at CounterPulseHeadlands Center for the Arts, and participation in the Dancing Lab: Immersive Media Through Cunningham at NCCAkron. KA is currently in residency at Djerassi Resident Artists Program and ODC Theatre, SF from 2018-2021.

Matt Langlois – The Welcome Matt is a San Francisco singer-songwriter, video/audio artist, music for dance composer and live performer. He has created multiple long-running music projects that favor his name, The Welcome Matt and Matt EL. Over the past two decades, Langlois has amassed an extensive library of music including 9 albums, 22 singles and a compilation CD. Touring regularly, pre-covid, Langlois and his band embarked on a cross-country tour from Los Angeles to New England and back (summer 2019). He has songwriting credit on the top 40 hit “San Francisco” by “CASCADA” from Germany, his “Wake Me Up In San Francisco” (original version) has played on KFOG 104.5 and at SF Giants games. Langlois plays live with CALI & CO dance nationally and internationally. His eclectic musical journey, ranging from quirky pop, alternative rock to thoughtful instrumentals have been featured in music videos, live dance concerts and virtual performances. Live performance credits include concerts at landmark San Francisco Music Venues including The Fillmore, The Great American Music Hall and Yoshi’s.
