The New Horizons Band of Sonoma County believes that seniors benefit from making music just like our children. For over 25 years the Santa Rosa chapter has provided concert band performances for free. You can join the concert band when you’re 50 years old. Some of us are in our 90s! The Sonoma County Fair has graciously invited us back again this year featuring our Swing Band. The Swing Band keeps dance music traditions alive from the 1920s to the 1950s featuring favorites by Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Louis Prima, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, The Andrews Sisters, and many more.
The fun starts on the Park Stage at 12:30pm with New Orleans Jazz by The Santa Rosa Traditional Jazz Jammers. The New Horizons Swing Band follows at 2:30pm and performs two sets ending at 5:00pm. Come sit a spell, enjoy a cold one, and tap your feet to the beat!
