"Klezmer & Krakauer" Santa Rosa Symphony concert

Mon, November 8, 2021, 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Francesco Lecce-Chong, conductor

David Krakauer, clarinet

Pioneering visionary David Krakauer offers the world premiere of his The Fretless Clarinet, a Klezmer clarinet concerto co-composed with Kathleen Tagg, comprising songs of life and death from Eastern Europe’s Ashkenazi Jews. Providing both contrast and continuity, the program begins with traditional Klezmer music arranged by Krakauer. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s beloved Scheherazade spins a seductive web of beguiling tales of exotic adventure and enchantment inspired by One Thousand and One Arabian Nights.
