NOVEMBER EXHIBIT:  NO DETAIL TOO SMALL

EXHIBIT DATES:  October 25 – November 21, 2021

Reception: Saturday, November 6, 2021, 2pm to 4pm: please join Victoria A. Kochergin to celebrate the show.

Local artist, Victoria A. Kochergin, presents No Detail Too small, a collection botanical artwork that expresses the unique beauty of each subject.  After working in multiple mediums, Kochergin felt blessed to discover botanical art in 2010, meeting her love of botanicals, realism, perfectionism, and calling her to adopt this age-old art form.  From that moment, she worked ardently to illustrate the beauty of each subject in her work. “No detail is ever too small to include – a bug eaten leaf, small hairs on a rose stem, vein patterns in a leaf – all contribute to the botanical’s character, spirit and individuality,” stated the artist.  She notes further that it takes weeks to months to complete a piece, but she doesn’t stop until she feels she has done her best to showcase the beautiful intricacies of the subject.  These detailed works in colored pencil truly enhance the viewers’ appreciation: as one looks closely, each botanical comes magically alive.

Kochergin received her BA in both Fine Art and English from UC Berkeley and has taken classes from leading local and international botanical instructors.  She is a longstanding member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Northern Society of Botanical Artists; she also teaches color pencil botanical classes.  Her work has been published and exhibited locally, internationally, statewide, and on Alcatraz.

Meet the Artist: Come and meet Victoria A. Kochergin at the Gallery on October 26, November 6 or 19, 11am to 6pm.

The Staircase Showcase features local artist Willow LaLand’s Wine Country Small Works, paintings that share the artist’s passion for Sonoma vineyard landscapes and the wines they produce.  Drawn to Healdsburg fifteen years ago, this third-generation artist began focusing on the region’s beauty and bounty.  LaLand’s realistic details – from veined grape leaves to wine glass reflections – prompt collectors to say, “I feel like I just installed a window.”  LaLand has exhibited widely and is internationally collected.  She was featured in American Art Collector magazine in 2013 and on KRCB television in 2015.

Meet the artist:  Come and meet Willow LaLand at the Gallery: October 27, 29, 30, 2:30-6pm; November 2, 16, 18, 24 2:30-6pm; November 5, 9, 11, 12, 30, 11am – 2:30pm.
