We survived. Huddled in the darkness, fleeing half-asleep beneath a new moon, escaping infernos threatening to engulf whole neighborhoods. But thanks to the bravery of many, we’ve returned home to the lives we so often take for granted. And while flames still flicker on distant hills and some have less to celebrate, for us, the lucky ones, we shall honor heroism by living more fully this short, fragile, beautiful existence.
We’ve reimagined our previously-schedule Halloween gig at Barley & Hops as a celebration of life that we’re calling “Illumination: A Sonoma County Revival”. But if you’re like us, last weekend you traded in a festive costume for the bare necessities you could grab while evacuating. So come costumed! Or just arrive wearing your newfound gratitude for life. Either way, come ready to dance, to love, to embrace this community that we just might have lost.
The lights will be on, the beer will flow, the groove will be funky.
