The Santa Rosa Symphony Young People’s Chamber Orchestra performs edgy works and classics spanning from the post-30 Years’ War era to the present day. Featuring works by YPCO resident historical figure Heinrich Biber, Franz Joseph Haydn, Camille Saint-Saëns, and present-day composer, Caroline Shaw, who describes her work, “Entr’acte” as “absurd, Technicolor,” inspired by Haydn, and like a trip to “the other side of Alice’s looking glass.” As part of the SRS Institute for Music Education’s First Opus program, YPCO will debut a string quartet by YPCO member and young composer Jordan Hendrickson. YPCO member soloists include violinist Mateo Prusky and cellist Gwendolyn Przyjazna.
