“Owls: Wild Neighbors” at Jack London State Historic Park

Wed, August 13, 2025, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

All About Owls, a Bay Area-based nonprofit dedicated to raptor education and conservation, will present a special program at Jack London State Historic Park on Wednesday, August 13.

This program offers a rare opportunity to learn about the species of owls that call the region home. From their fascinating hunting adaptations to their unique calls and nesting behaviors, owls play a critical role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem.

As owl populations continue to face threats, organizations like All About Owls work to educate the public, support rescue efforts, and promote conservation practices that help protect these remarkable birds.

This event will explore owl natural history, behaviors, and the simple steps humans can take to coexist with these vital raptors. Both seasoned birdwatchers and curious newcomers will walk away with a deeper appreciation for these silent hunters and the how to help protect them.

Joining the presentation will be two raptor ambassadors from All About Owls – a Great Horned Owl and an American Kestrel – offering a unique and engaging look at these incredible birds.

All About Owls offers presentations with live owls to schools, environmental organizations and for events, teaching about the natural history, identification and the amazing facts of local owls. Their message is one of conservation and stewardship to inspire positive change through understanding the key role raptors play in the environment.
