April 26 through 29, 2019 is City Nature Challenge: a world-wide event for which anyone over 13 years old may participate in recording observations of Nature in a free app called iNaturalist. Simply download the app on your phone or computer before arriving at the park. While in the park on designated trails, take quality photos to document plants, flowers, wildlife. Make sure to take photos that can be later identified by other citizen scientists on the app. (For example, a wildflower photo should include a photo of the entire plant, a foot/finger for perspective of size, a close-up of the foliage and a close-up of the flower). Then, download the observations on iNaturalist! Join the iNaturalist project called “Trione- Annadel Bioblitz 2019” so your observations are included in our project page. You can also participate during the weekend and following week by helping to confirm identification of other people’s observations on iNaturalist. Now you have taken part in Citizen Science! You can observe on iNaturalist anytime any day, and we hope to include yours for the Bioblitz dates in Trione-Annadel State Park!
