Ayurvedic Wisdom and Cooking Class

Sat, November 13, 2021, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Ayurveda originated in India about 5000 years ago, the same time as yoga, and is considered to be the oldest form of healthcare. Translated from Sanskrit it means “science of life.”

When yoga and Ayurveda are employed together they create balance in the mind, body and spirit. Yoga does this through the physical and meditative practice; Ayurveda does this by taking into consideration external forces that one cannot control: changes in seasons, aging, changes in the universe, etc.

In this workshop you will learn:  what Ayurveda is; how to use Ayurvedic priciples in your everyday life; the 3 Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha); impact of changes throughout the day and seasons; reactions to food; causes of disease; creating balance in the body.

*This Series is a pre-requisite for all Ayurveda Workshops at blue door.

Dr. Dandekar is an Osteopathic physician, Ayurvedic practitioner and board-certified in Family Medicine. She helps patients with chronic health issues through her training in these three disciplines.
