About Christina Galisatus
Born and raised in San Francisco and now based in Los Angeles, Christina Galisatus is a pianist, composer, vocalist, and songwriter known for her blend of emotional honesty and purposeful restraint. Her distinctive sound draws from years of classical piano and French horn studies, fused with a deep background in jazz and improvised music.
Her debut album, Without Night, was described by All About Jazz as “the beginning of something fresh” and compared to “Laurel Canyon singer-songwriter music as played by an improvising group.” Her most recent release, Hold Still—her first as a vocalist—has been praised as both radically gentle and emotionally urgent.
Deeply inspired by Joni Mitchell, Christina approaches Mitchell’s music with reverence and originality, seeking to preserve its heart while making it wholly her own.
