Join Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods staff for an easy walk along the coastal bluffs of Sonoma Coast State Park starting at Shell Beach. We’ll observe and photograph species along the trail, and contribute our findings to the Find 30 Species for California Biodiversity Day project on iNaturalist. This is a free event and all ages are welcome!
California has some of the highest species diversity in the world, and Sonoma County is a biodiversity hotspot within California. California Biodiversity Day is September 7th, and Biodiversity Day events occur from September 6th – 14th, 2025 throughout California. The events are a way of celebrating and bringing awareness about the many species of plants and animals that we are connected with, and to take action to steward this incredible home.
