Clybourne Park at The Raven Performing Arts Theater

Sun, November 20, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Written by: Bruce Norris
Directed by: Steven David Martin

Set during and after the events of Lorraine Hansberry’s seminal work, A Raisin in the Sun, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Clybourne Park explodes in two outrageous acts set fifty years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a Black family. Act Two is set in the same house 50 years later, as the now predominantly Black neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Approximately 20 minutes before each performance, we’ll be running a special screening of the short film Segregated by Design. This award-winning film examines the forgotten history of how federal, state, and local governments unconstitutionally segregated every major metropolitan area in America through law and policy. It’s free admission for Clybourne Park ticket holders, so join us for this special screening, followed immediately by Bruce Norris’ incredible Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to attend this show. Go to: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov to get a scannable record of your vaccination status on your smartphone.
