We are thrilled to launch dance-a-luma, a women-only, substance-free monthly dance gathering in downtown Petaluma’s warehouse district — to uplift and celebrate the power of Woman! Scientifically proven to be the strongest antidepressant, dance has countless benefits for your mental and physical health.
Dance is medicine! There is no better way to love yourself in these times of global anxiety and despair, than to dance.
Join us for an energizing journey with a range of musical genres to inspire movement, connection and joy. To honor our nervous systems and properly welcome you into a dancing community, we’ll warm up for the first 1/2 hour and wind down for the last. Although we may invite you into some shared movement, this isn’t a performance or a choreographed event. You are free to move as YOUR body wants to. 🎵
Both of the women co-hosting this event had dreams about creating a dance experience just for women. Jessica Rios was born on the day the UN declared International Women’s Day, March 8th 1975, and has a long held passion for empowering women. She’s been leading women’s groups for 28 years. She is so jazzed to be co-hosting with the enchanting and beloved DJ CIANA. Known to enchant dancers under the full moon in Pt. Reyes and on the Church of the Open Mind art car at Rivertown Revival, DJ CIANA delights in the power of music from CA to NY. đź’“
