SSU Rock Collegium presents Money

Sat, May 10, 2025, 7:30 pm

Get ready for an unforgettable night of music and storytelling at Rock Collegium’s Spring 2025 concert, Money, directed by John R. Palmer. Held on Saturday, May 10, at 7:30 PM in Schroeder Hall, this genre-blending performance explores wealth, ambition, and society through a thrilling lineup of classic and contemporary songs. From the cinematic sweep of “The Ecstasy of Gold” to the sharp commentary of Rush’s “The Big Money” and ABBA’s infectious “Money, Money, Money,” the setlist highlights music’s deep ties to our dreams and realities about fortune. Audiences will also experience surf rock classics like “Pipeline” and “Walk, Don’t Run,” emotional blues with “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out,” and high-energy rock anthems like “Cult of Personality.” Featuring an incredible cast of student musicians and a few surprise performances from faculty, Money promises a night of dynamic music-making that spans decades and genres. Plus, you might hear a few unexpected bonus tracks! Don’t miss this vibrant evening where rock meets storytelling, and music reflects the glitter and grit of chasing riches.
