Sonoma Valley Museum of Art (SVMA), along with sponsors Holly and Stephen Sorkin, is pleased to present an installation of two murals by Santa Rosa-raised artist Maria de Los Angeles. The murals, permanent installations on the facades of a building rehab project at 13647 Arnold Drive in Glen Ellen, CA., will be available for public viewing beginning July 10.
The public is invited to a Community Celebration, Saturday, July 10, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., for a day of festivities. The event will include music, dance, art projects, food, and presentations by local dignitaries including Susan Gorin, Supervisor 1st District, SVMA Executive Director Linda Keaton, mural sponsor Stephen Sorkin, and others. Performers include Ballet Folklorico Quetzalen and Ben Prentice & Joel Kruzic Jazz Duo, and potentially others. There will also be art activities for youth and the young at heart. Food and beverages, available from the Garden Court Cafe and Cielito, are offered throughout the event. Guests are encouraged to carpool to the event as parking is limited.
Murals will be on two facades of the building—a North-facing wall and a South-facing wall on the corner of Arnold Drive and Carquinez Avenue.
