Welcome to Sonoma County Art Trails, Sebastopol Center for the Arts fall open studio event that unlocks the studios of Sonoma County artists for your delight.
This 36th year of the program, we surprise you with 121 artists. Did you know that these experienced artists must go through a rigorous selection procedure judged by five independent jurors, to be accepted into the program?
For two weekends in September, you can explore their artistic sanctuaries and discover the person behind those paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures in glass, wood, bronze, stone or clay… Listen to their stories and learn about the talent and skill involved to reach such beauty. What would the world be without artists? But, how hard would life be for an artist if no-one would appreciate, or even purchase, their work? You make that happen.
Look for the artist’s educational displays on the art process or find out times for a demonstration.
As a starting point for your studio tour, visit the preview exhibition at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts where every artist has one piece in the gallery—or visit one of our other mini previews.
In this collectors guide, which is the perfect tool for marking your favorites, circle the locations on the inserted map, and you will be ready for an artistic adventure, guided by the blue signs to the studios.
It is a perfect yearlong artist directory. Many artists will welcome you by appointment later.
After a year of seclusion, enjoy your regained freedom to roam in this stunning county, a place with a thriving artists community, also known for its superb cuisine and world renowned wineries.
Whether you are an artist yourself, an established or aspiring collector, or a tourist with a taste for finer things, there is something to be found for everyone in Sonoma County Art Trails.
